Israel: Hospital Director Visits Gedolei Yisrael


Dr. Erev Halperin, the director of Beilinson Hospital (Rabin Medical Center) in Petach Tikvah visited a number of gedolei yisrael ahead of Rosh Hashanah. The doctor explained some of the advances made in hi hospital, including a בית היולדות, which is being run by Prof. Anon Vishnitzer, one who maintains deep-rooted ties with the chareidi community.

Escorted by askan Rav Shlomo Kupolovitz (קופולוביץ ), Dr. Halperin visited with HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Nissim Karelitz Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita, and the Vishnitzer Rebbe Shlita.

Rav Wosner, the Shevet Halevy gave the doctor the bracha “שלא תצא מכשול מתחת ידיכם”, receiving him warmly. Rav Wosner discussed some halachic issues pertaining to the running of a hospital.

Rav Kanievsky wished him a שנה טובה and expressed his gratitude to all the staff members who do an exemplary job towards caring for the ill among Am Yisrael.

Rav Karelitz spoke about halachic issues, stressing care must be given to all patients no matter what their condition. He praised the liaisons that bridge between the medical professionals and the community, which he believes contributes significantly to a good feeling among the patients and their families.

The Vishnitzer Rebbe gave considerable honor to the doctor, and the meeting was joined by representatives of the רפואה וחיים organization. The rebbe gave a warm bracha for the hospital and its staff, giving a honey dish as a token of best wishes for a good and sweet year.

After meeting with the gedolim, a dinner was held with askanim who deal with the medical community, including Rav Chanoch Zeibert (Deputy Mayor/Bnei Brak), Rav Elimelech Fuehrer (אגודת עזרה למרפא ), Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, Rav Chaim Yitzchok Feldman (Rav of Asuta Hospital), Rav Zissman Teital, Rav Shlomo Dringer (‘רפואה וישועה’) and Rav Menachem Gesheid (an advisor to Litzman).
