Halloween is definitely of pagan origin and then was adapted by Xtianity (although the Puritans opposed it as well as Xmas). Dressing up as witches, etc. is certainly pagan. In fact,some historians believe that the witch trials in both North America and Europe were a religious war against the remnants of European paganism.
