President Peres: Everyone Must Serve in the IDF

President Shimon Peres decided to use an award ceremony for outstanding IDF reservists to vocalize his opinion again, that everyone must serve in the IDF.

The president stated that anyone that can serve must, so the burden is shared equally by all citizens. The entire country must play a role in building the state and the entire nation must undertake the security burden.

The president added “The Mideast is stormy today, filled with old and new threats. We should not be frightened but we should also not take them lightly. Israel today is stronger than ever and Israel has its own defenses today, those developed in the past and those that will be developed tomorrow.”

  1. Is he referring to all the chilonim who bash the chareidim for not serving yet don’t serve themselves or to the chareidim who are busy holding up the world with their Torah study? I wonder…

  2. Call a spade a spade Mr. Peres. You’d rather the frum stay in their own little bubble and not the Idf. If you could you’d kick us out of politics you’d do that too. I think he made this blanket statement “to mean everyone in Israel” -from the frum to the cheloni to the Russian immigrant to the Arab, but we know your agenda Mr. Peres no matter how many times you put on a Yarmulke for the photo op.

  3. What a self serving hypocrite this trief bird is. He never spent a day in the IDF or even any of the pre-State defense forces. Since he was 17 years old he has lived off the public as a political operative of one sort or another. Nevertheless he is a multimillionaire. I guess he has a little glass jar somewhere that he put his spare change into.

  4. “…everyone must serve in the IDF.”

REALLY? How about the 1.5 million Arab citizens of Israel? How about the hebrew University students?
