A city firefighter suffered minor injuries Sunday as a man tried to steal a fire truck after a car crash in Manhattan, according to the fire department.

Crews had responded to the scene after multiple cars collided near 10th Ave. and 43rd St. in Hell’s Kitchen around 12:27 p.m., the FDNY said.

Eight people were injured due to the crash, the fire department said, including one person who is seriously hurt. Three people are in serious but stable condition, while four others suffered minor injuries.

After the crash, multiple fighters had to work together to pull the man out of the front cab of the fire truck.

The incidents are under investigation. It is not clear how many cars were involved in the crash, the fire department said.
