Avreich Killed in Erev Shabbos MVA on Tunnel Road

A fatal accident occurred on erev shabbos, during the afternoon hours on the Minharot Tunnel Road that connects Gush Etzion to southern Yerushalayim. Jerusalem chareidi resident Mordechai Dissin z”l was killed in the head-on collision and two others were injured, one moderate and one listed in serious condition. There were a number of others injured less seriously.

EMT Chaim Har Zahav of Icud Hatzalah explains that upon his arrival, it only took seconds to assess the seriousness of the collision between a vehicle and a jeep. “The driver of the private vehicle was crushed to death in the impact” he detailed.

EMTs, paramedics, fire rescue and other professionals operated on the scene as they worked to extricate victims from the tangled metal.

Eyewitnesses told authorities the victim was traveling behind a truck when suddenly, a couch fell from it, compelling him to swerve and apparently resulting in the fatal crash.

The license of the vehicle from which the sofa fell was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded. Police stated the driver failed to tie down the sofa as he should and in this case, the result was the loss of one life and injuries to others. The driver may also face negligent homicide charges.

Their society does not teach or model safety concerns, and injuries/homicide and terror are gateways to heavenly entrance.

  2. Actually, the jeep with Arabs was behind the truck with the couch, and swerved into the oncoming lane to avoid the couch when it fell off, hitting the victim’s much smaller car head on, immediately killing the victim. BD”H.

Besides the fatal carelessness with the couch, drivers, (especially from certain religions that don’t value human life, but also Jewish ones), have much too little compunction about going into the oncoming traffic lane.
