All nine bystanders wounded during a shooting between police officer and a gunman near the Empire State Building on Friday were hit by bullets fired by the two officers, police said on Saturday, citing ballistics evidence. The two officers who confronted the gunman, Jeffrey Johnson, fired on him after he pointed a .45-caliber pistol at them. Officer Craig Matthews fired seven shots, while officer Robert Sinishtaj fired nine times, according to police. Neither men had ever fired their weapons while on a patrol.

this is when Bloomberg gets all quiet! Ahem Mr. Bloomberg its not working out as planned now is it?
I agree with #1
Maybe Lord Mike should change his mantra from: take the illegal guns out of the hands of the criminals, to: take the legal guns out of the hands of incompetent police officers!
So now imagine more people had guns… hw accurate would they be?
mabey next Bloomberg will say that cops should not carry guns
What are you talking about?
I guess its the cops who should be stripped of their guns because most have no clue how to us one!
If someone threatens you with a .45 pistol, msut you wait untill he fires first.
These guys should get a medal of merit for quick action. Imagine if the had waited and the gangster had fired at them first and at the crowd second?
Stop being hyper cautious when dealing with criminals.
A pity that byestanders got wounded, but imagine if a gunman had opened fire directly into the crowds.
Stupid police, shooting innocent bystanders.
They are going to get sued big time.
