VIDEO: Cop Draws His Weapon At Peleg Protest In Yerushalayim On Monday Night

(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

In the accompanying video taken on Monday night the eve of 27 Tishrei, one sees a policeman with his gun drawn shouting at Peleg protesters in Jerusalem. The protesters, affiliated with the Peleg/Yerushalmi faction led by HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita, were blocking streets, traffic and public transportation in protest of the arrest of two talmidim affiliated with the Peleg. Some were violent and disobeyed police who tried restoring order and permit traffic to resume. Protests were taking place in Yerushalayim and Bnei Brak.

One can hear the policeman shouting “Who wants a bullet” as her runs with his weapon drawn, pointed at the crowd.

The policeman was summoned to explain his actions to his superiors later in the night. He explained that he was surrounded by violent protesters, who were hurling rocks and other objects at them. He told his superiors at one point he felt threatened and then drew his weapon, which he never fired. A police probe into the matter continues.

On Tuesday the Peleg once again had protests, resulting in the arrest of dozens of Yeshiva Bochrim.

  1. In any other civilized country including the usa, u would get tased for not leaving when a cop says to leave. Why the big uproar

  2. Why are the police so afraid of these hooligans? If the police sent in enough offices including the elite Yassam officers we would soon see and end to this terrorism.

  3. These protesters are insane.
But there’s no excuse for running around with a drawn weapon like that. He doesn’t seem to be in or think he’s in danger.

  4. Between these stories, and the one last week about the guy being arrested for having a sukkah in a public park is just shameful. Second, you’d never get tazed in the USA for that. Or else we wouldn’t have nut jobs “protesting” and blocking traffic in the streets (which I never see citizens forcibly move), or even the so called “Occupy” movement.
Every article features three groups acting shamefully. Protestors, maybe, but mainly cops and citizens acting like thugs. Shouldn’t people in Jerusalem be setting a better example?
