Dempsey & Gantz Speak on a Regular Basis

According to the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey, Israel and the United States have the same intelligence information regarding Iran’s nuclear program but they respond to that information differently. Arriving in Afghanistan for a brief visit, Dempsey explained that it is not that the countries have conflicting or different intelligence reports, but it is just that the United States and Israel do not respond to the information in the same way.

“Two countries can take the same intelligence reports and arrive at different conclusions. I believe this is the case here” explained the four star general.

Dempsey stressed that despite the different points of view, he maintains a good working relationship with IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz, with whom he speaks at least once every two weeks. “We compare intelligence information and discuss regional ramifications and we have admitted to one another that our watches do not tick to the same pace”.

“Israel also lives with an existential threat that we do not face” added the US commander.

Dempsey’s remarks just serve to strengthen the position of those who believe and Israeli assault against Iran is imminent.
