Working with allied nations by sharing intelligence data, the Israel intelligence community routinely shares information with friendly nations, and doing so in the past two years has prevented dozens of terror attacks worldwide. This includes planned attacks by members and supporters of the Islamic State.
According to a Haaretz report, one attack which was thwarted was a planned attack during a soccer game between host Albania and Israel. Warnings from Israel have also reached intelligence officials in France, Belgium and Turkey. Structural changes have been made in Israel’s intelligence community towards facilitating and improving the sharing of information.
Amid the many threats facing Israel, it continues to view Iran and its nuclear program and presence and involvement in Syria as a major threat and while Israel has not officially taken sides in the ongoing Syria Civil War, the intelligence community is constantly monitoring events involving Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Hizbullah and Israel has recently been blamed for a number bombing attacks of weapons convoys and storage facilities while Jerusalem has remained silent, not confirming or denying the legitimacy of those reports, which generally originate in Lebanon or Syria.
