A group of some 106 Chassidic passengers who flew Sun d’Or airlines from Israel to Uman 9 months ago is suing the company for mismanagement of their flight which caused them to have to sleep on the floor of the airline terminal in Kiev.
The Chassidim traveled as an organized group to visit the Kever of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov in Uman. Following their very brief trip, the group headed to Kiev airport, where they were supposed to board their return flight on Sun d’Or airlines.
Following a passport and security check that went according to schedule, the airline notified the passengers a few moments before the plane was supposed to taxi away from the terminal, that the flight had been canceled. Adding to the frustration of the travelers, the airline did not have a projected itinerary regarding when the next scheduled flight was supposed to be.
According to one of the Chassidim who was interviewed by MAKO news, “Not a single representative of the airline bothered to inform us that the flight was being canceled, or what was happening regarding another flight. This carried on for more than a few hours. They did not put us up in a hotel, nor did they help us find food, but rather they simply threw us out to go sleep on the floor of the terminal. People slept on the floor the whole night, others who luckier got to sleep on a bench. It was an uncomfortable feeling, to say the least, they simply abandoned us. This is not how an airline is supposed to function.”
Another Sun d’Or plane landed in Kiev and took the wearied travelers back to Israel, but with a 17-hour delay.

Just curious which rav or rebbe gave them the go ahead to sue them in court.
