Magen David Adom has finalized preparations for the arrival of tens of thousands of mispallalim traveling to Uman, to the kever of Rav Nachman ZT”L for Rosh Hashanah in what is labeled ‘Operation Rabbeinu’.
MDA is working in cooperation with Hatzoloh Ukraine, which enjoys the support of a number of Hatzoloh branches in Eretz Yisrael including Hatzoloh Galil, ZAKA, Hatzoloh Yavniel, Hatzoloh Darom, Hatzoloh Bnei Brak. In addition to Hatzoloh Ukraine, MDA works with other emergency agencies which operate abroad.
MDA adds that more than ten new MDA volunteers were certified by the organization over a half year ago, volunteers who live there year-round, permitting them to respond to medical emergencies year-round.
As mispallalim arrive in the coming days, volunteers will be deployed around the tziyun, near the living quarters and other areas operated by Breslov locally.
MDA stresses persons requiring care will be taken to the infirmary that it is manning together with Breslov. Hundreds of paramedics and EMTs from the various Hatzoloh organizations will be taking part in Operation Rabbeinu. They will be activated by the “My MDA” smartphone app as is done in Israel, providing GPS location and required details in the fastest possible time.
Avi Hovav, Deputy Director of the Jerusalem Region who manages Operation Rabbeinu: “Over 100 volunteers and First Responders of the MDA-Hatzoloh organization will be deployed in Uman in service of the many mispallalim visiting the tziyun of Rav Nachman.
“They will provide medical treatment to the tens of thousands of Jews in Uman during all days of the holiday. In service of the many prayers, there is an emergency line established especially for the operation, as well as a mobile app that will broadcast First Responders the precise location of the emergency, and allow them to reach the scene rapidly and easily.”
MDA Director-General, Eli Bin: “I am confident that the large-scale preparation of the volunteers in Uman, which meets the highest standards, will assists in saving lives during the days of the holiday. The preparation extends across all days of the year, reaching a peak during the Jewish holidays. MDA, as the national rescue organization of Israel will stand by all civilians of the state even when they are across the sea. I would like to use this opportunity to wish everyone Shana Tova.”
