    How do you become a Rosh Yeshivah if you don’t learn???

    I personally don’t know a single R”Y that isn’t a big Talmid Chochom never mind learning…

11. #8 – not very tasteful.
    You are a victim of all the newspapers in their photograph section that portray Roshei Hayeshivos dancing around to all chasunah’s. No one sees when they go home and stay up till the early hours of the morning learning and preparing shiurim.

12. How dare we comment about our Roshei Yeshiva who are forced to carry the financial burden of Our Yeshivos and raise funds for your childrens tuition with tremendous mesiras nefesh. Yes it is true that The Rosh Yeshiva Reb Shmuel ZT”L was zocheh to be spared of these duties and was a Chad Bedara in that sense. Gedolim such as Reb Elchonon Wasserman and Reb Boruch Ber were forced to travel to America to raise funds for their Yeshivos. Were they not Talmidei Chachomim did they not Learn Torah? Maybe before you comment you should try carrying the burden of a Yeshiva while delivering daily shiurim.

13. I am sure that comment # 8 is sitting and learning all day and night and is a lot more knowledgable than all the Rosh Yeshivas out there. What a ignorant individual to make a blank statement like that and Motzee laaz on roshei yeshivas.

    #8 means AFTER they become a Rosh HaYeshiva. Many times Roshei HaYeshive are very busy with the Tzibur and with guiding bochurim/yungerleit and end up learning very little.

    My own Rosh HaTeshiva told someone who asked him an eitzah about taking a twelfth grade rebbi job, “Take the job on the condition that they can’t make you Rosh HaYeshiva. Roshei Yeshiva hardly have time to learn.”

15. if anyone cares to know reb chiam ozer and the chofetz chiam were not roshei hayeshiva. it is not the task for the rosh hayeshiva to run tzibur inyonim, their main task is putting their focus on being maamid talmidim. evidently reb aharon ztl did as he was only in lakewood for weekends, but the change of manhigim from morei diasra and poskim to roshei hayeshiva happened not so long ago, perhaps a lack of others to lead. this is just a haara not a judgement.

16. As someone who doesnt bring a Yated or Hamodia into my house, I am relying on YW to go through with the best coverage of the Levaya and a nice biography of Mori Vrebee Ztl

17. Everyone chill out on poor commenter #8. He didnt mean that rosh yeshivas dont learn or arent talmidei chachamim chas veshalom. He was saying it as a praise to the rosh yeshiva tzl that he was able to learn so much while leading others…

    Im sure Rav Shmuel isnt too happy that his passing and this innocent mans praise of him is causing pure SINAT CHINAM. Where are all your senses? Dont you want mashiach to come today?

18. As someone with 3 relatives who are R’Y, I can tell you that although they are talmidey chachomim and maybe even geonim, there is tremendous pressure to be able to support a yeshiva, wether it is big or small.

    btw, one small reason that Reb Shmuel zatzal was able to sit and learn is because Reb Osher K has been working overtime to keep the yeshiva running bigashmiyus as well as biruchniyus.

19. to #16-this weeks hamodia has a special supplement dedicated to R’Shmuel Berenbaum with pictures and articles. Even though you dont bring it into your house, I think you should reconsider this week!

WHICH ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT APON THEM SELF THE BURDEN OF RUNNING A YESHIVA. R’ SHMUEL ZAL TRULY, CAN TESTIFY THAT HE WAS NOT OBLIVIOUS TO THIS ABBLIGATION.IT WAS ONLY BECAUSE HIS DEPENDENCE ON THE TZIDKUS OF HIS PARTNERS AND WHEN HE FELT THAT THERE WAS A NEED FOR HIS PARTICIPATION HE PARTICIPATED.
