I think it’s yemois moshiach will all these crazy hurricane earthquakes and other disasters. There is a source saying that crazy things will happend right before the comin of moshiach such as a crazy advancement or technology and knowledge and many other great things yes of course I learned עג״מ but I’m wondering all all these disasters this week connected ?

And it seemed like mashiach must have been right around the corner. So maybe he is coming tomorrow and maybe not. Our job is to be the best we can be and hope and daven for the time we could serve Hashem in peace. I don’t think it’s productive to spend too much effort trying to predict the future. It will happen when it happens and hopefully sooner rather than later. In the meantime we have work to do.

Myers and tore a swath of 100+mph winds through Orlando to Daytona, Frances, a slow moving large hurricane that struck Martin County (about 100 miles north of Miami) and made a second landfall in the Panhandle, Ivan, which struck southern Alabama but devastated coastal areas near Pensacola, and Jeanne, which looped after starting to recurve and struck Florida in almost the exact same spot as Frances. Then in late 2004 a tremendous earthquake in the Indian Ocean shook the entire planet and generated massive tsunami waves that killed hundreds of thousands of people in more than a dozen countries. Then in 2005 the U.S. had Cindy (Carolinas), Dennis (Gulf Coast), Irene (East Coast), Katrina (south Florida and then devastation of New Orleans and the MS/AL Gulf Coast), Ophelia (brushed the Carolinas), Rita (hit the Florida Keys and then slammed SW Louisiana), and Wilma (became the deepest hurricane on record in the Atlantic and later swiped across Florida as a Cat 3, bringing a huge swath of hurricane force winds across the entire south FL metro). Four Atlantic basin hurricanes that year attained Category 5 intensity, the storms ultimately had to be named using the Greek alphabet because there were so many (we got to Zeta).

September 11, 2017 5:43 pm at 5:43 pm #1361295LubavitcherParticipantTrue . I am very close with a lot of satmar ppl
One thing is that I think is crazy is all these split chassidduses can’t talk to eachother like y nothing’s gonna happened.
We still speak to meshechits even though we think some r extream….
But I see
Achdus Btwn these split chassiduses getting together with the other of the same chassidis would be amazingSeptember 11, 2017 5:44 pm at 5:44 pm #1361307kingdavidParticipantPeople have been predicting moshiach’s arrival for centuries but nobody knows. Maybe they want it to happen so much that they make silly calculations about it and convince themselves that its true. Some people become so absorbed in these calculations and moshiachs arrival date, they dont live like they should. We should not focus on these things. Live a good life, helping people and doing the right thing. It is very possible that moshiach will come very soon but its also very possible that he will not.

wow and I thought global warming was causing it to happen with stronger hurricanes!

The term you mean to use is “Ikvisa dimoshicha,” Aramaic for the “heels of Moshiach,” i.e., the time just before the Coming of Moshiach.
Yimois Hamoshiach will be AFTER Moshiach comes, and those will be nice times.

In every generation we say “achaka lo b’chol yom sheyavo”. We need to wait every day for him. No, we don’t know exactly when Moshiach is coming but I definitely don’t look at it as a gnai that people actually expect him to arrive now. We should certainly be living our lives in a way to make Hashem proud but I don’t see how expecting Moshiach’s arrival on a daily basis would interfere with that.
September 12, 2017 3:50 pm at 3:50 pm #1362133GadolhadorahParticipantOnce or twice a month, there are a bunch of guys who run around Crown Heights near 770 waving yellow flags screaming various nigunim about Rebbe Moishiach etc. At first, they got some attention but over the years they have morphed into the fabric of background noise that goes with the turf….Their comical appearances do not have us fixated on looking for some heilege-looking yid riding a white donkey coming up Beford Ave making a right turn on Eastern Parkway….The vast majority of Yidden truly believe that we don’t warrant z’man moishiach until we have overcome the sinas chinam and demonstrated the achdus for all of klal yisroel that arguably is the reason for the churban habayis galus in the first place
September 12, 2017 4:05 pm at 4:05 pm #1362307motchah11ParticipantI would like to know why everyone expects nissim geluyim when Moshiach comes. The gemara says there are 2 ways Moshiach can come. Either “achishenu,” hurried up and with nossim geluyim because all of Klal Yisroel has done teshuvah, or “b’ito,” in its appointed time and slowly, with only nossim nistorim because we have not done teshuvah. The second is the more likely, and in fact has almost begun with the slow return of Yidden to Eretz Yisroel from all over the world. Why does everyone expect nissim geluyim?
