For the first time: MDA, the Ministry of Labor & Social Affairs and the Ministry of Health will develop a paramedic course exclusively for chareidi men. MDA Director-General Eli Bin: “MDA sees it necessary to invest considerable resources in training members of the chareidi sector who prove themselves to be quality, professional and dedicated personnel.”
Magen David Adom, the Ministry of Labor & Social Affairs and the Ministry of Health will offer a paramedic training course exclusively for chareidi men, at a joint investment of 1 million shekels.
Registration for the first cycle of the course will begin in the coming days, and within this framework 30 chareidi men from all over the country will be offered to undergo paramedic training in Magen David Adom. The course, which will last two to two and a half years, will consist of a theoretical stage and a practical stage, and at the end of the course the graduates are expected to be admitted as paramedics in Magen David Adom.
As part of the screening process, an advantage will be given to persons with a background in work and / or volunteering in the field of emergency medicine who have performed the duties of first aid providers or EMTs for at least two years. Candidates who pass the screening process will be able to be hired as MDA workers after successfully passing the theoretical stage.
According to the program website, eligibility requirements include:
- 21 or over
- Proof of completion of 12 years of study or yeshiva ketana
- Experience of two years as a first-aider or EMT
- Ability to learn
- Valid driver’s license for at least two years
- Clean police record
- Passing the screening stages – which include tests – Psychotechnical and personal, and an assessment center which is adapted to the job properties
