The Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday, released a message denying the accuracy of a Haaretz report filed by Barak Ravid. According to the Haaretz report, when US National Security Adviser Tom Donilon visited two weeks ago Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was given a firsthand look at America’s plan for an offensive against Iran’s nuclear program towards persuading Israel to abandon any plans for a unilateral attack against Iran. The report stated that during the three-hour official dinner, the prime minister and National Security Advisor Yaakov Amidror learned a great deal regarding America’s plans, signaling that if the White House feels that the diplomatic channel is no longer a viable alternative, an attack plan already exists.
For a portion of the dinner the prime minister and the US national security advisor were left alone to discuss these high level matters.
Not long after the Haaretz report was released the Prime Minister’s Office followed with a media statement denying the accuracy of the report, stating there was simply nothing about the report that resembled reality and it was not based in fact. The message from the PMO went as far as to say the two did not meet for dinner and they did not meet in private to discuss high level matters.
