On Tuesday evening at about 8:00PM, the Israel Police received a report to the emergency dispatcher, according to which a person reported that an Arab who was sitting next to him at a bus stop in Petach Tikvah and asked to make a call from his phone. When he refused, he pulled out a sharp object, stabbed him, and fled.
Many police forces arrived at the scene as they began searching and investigating the incident. The victim sustained very light injuries.
Within a few minutes of the incident, it was suspected that he had fabricated the attack, and later he admitted and confirmed the suspicions of the policemen that it never occurred and that the cut he presented did not happen as he reported.
The victim, a 23-year-old Petach Tikvah resident, was taken into custody for filing a false report. He was taken into custody and arraigned on Thursday.
