A young kallah, Avital Chaiyoun A”H, who was engaged just a week earlier was killed in a fatal crash on Highway 443 on erev shabbos. The chosson was injured in the crash.
The two got a ride in a vehicle from the Latrun area to Shilat Junction (near Modi’in). On the way, the driver asked the chosson if he could drive a bit since he, the driver, was extremely tired. For reasons that are unclear at present, the chosson entered the dead end lane near the IDF’s Ofir Base and the vehicle smashed into the cement pillars traveling at considerable speed.
MDA and Ichud Hatzalah medics responded and the chosson’s condition was described as moderate. The person sitting in the passenger seat was seriously injured. The kallah, seated in the rear, got out of the vehicle and was walking when EMS personnel arrived, insisting she was fine. She refused transport to a hospital. EMTs insisted and she finally agreed to permit them to transport her to a hospital.
Reports state doctors simply failed to diagnose her internal bleeding and as a result, she died of internal hemorrhaging over shabbos. The levaya took place today, Sunday morning 3 Av 5772 at 10:00 in Nof Ayalon in the Sephardi shul and kvura was in the Gezer Council beis hachaim.

Hashem Yerachem.
Hashem yerachem
V’rapo y’rape. Doctors are merely his agents. This holy neshama was taken by Hashem’s will for reasons we cannot fathom. May her family and her hatan have nehama from the heavens. May the hatan and the original driver have a refua sh’lema.
I understood from a different article (written on an Israeli site) that she was wheeled into surgery immediately but unfortunately died from her injuries, i.e. there was not a case of mistaken neglect. Either way “hakol m’lamala” and may her family be comforted among the mourners of Zion. Let the pain we all feel be yet another impetus to do the teshuva we all individually need to do.
