YWN regrets to inform you that a young yeshiva bochur critically injured in a hit-and-run accident in Yerushalayim earlier on Thursday, has passed away.

16-year-old Hagai Goldstein was struck as he crossed Golda Meir Boulevard, at the intersection with Mirsky Street in Ramot. He was from Kfar Adumim and was a student at the Ohr Torah yeshiva in Ramot.

CPR at the scene was successful and he later regained a pulse, but tragically he passed away at Hadassah hospital.

The driver, from the Arab town of Al Khalayleh in the Shomron, initially fled the scene, but later turned himself in to police.
