Disgraced Anthony Weiner Reportedly Considering NYC Mayoral Run

Former congressman Anthony Weiner, who resigned last year following a scandal, is reportedly considering running for mayor of New York City.

Before the scandal hit, Weiner had been exploring a 2013 run. His campaign was widely believed to be dead, but the New York Post reports that he is “seriously considering” vying for mayorship.
Gothamist reports that the former Rep. has around $4.5 million in his campaign chest, only slightly behind City Council Speaker and current Democratic frontrunner Christine Quinn. He’s already spending some of that money on campaign-related things (like office space and phone bills), DNAinfo points out.According to the Post, Weiner has already spoken to several former staffers about the bid, and would also consider running for Public Advocate.

After months away from the spotlight following his June 2011 resignation, Weiner has slowly begun to reappear in politics. Last month, he was interviewed on WNYC about the Supreme Court’s Obamacare ruling.

  1. If sending those photos diodn’t indicate that he has some mental health issues, for Wiener to think the voters have forgotten his bizarrte behaviour and will vote for him confirms it.

No way he could win any office.

  2. Why is it chutzpa to try to rejoin politics? It’s was his career and life. He made a mistake, but never actually cheated. Everyone deserves a second chance.
I know I would definitely vote for him.

  3. What do you expect? This unfortunate man has lost touch with reality. Mayor of a city? He should not be trusted as a school crossing guard! But in his sickness he does not notice anything.

  4. There are mentally ill politicians and leaders everywhere.

    He got caught.

Yes, he made a mistake. However, by electing people who have exposed lude behavior episodes desenstises society to immorality.
