Prior to the Jerusalem District Court announcing the verdict in a number of criminal cases against former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert earlier this week, Shas leader R’ Eli Yishai telephoned Olmert to tell him that Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita was davening for him.

“We remember all the good you did and maran is reciting tehillim for your success” Yishai is quoted as saying.
