Magen David Adom annually treats many people on Tisha B’Av, known as one of the most difficult fasts of the year due to the heavy heat. This year MDA forces also took care of those who suffered from weakness, fainting, dizziness and confusion.
MDA reports that as of 6:45PM on Tisha B’Av evening, it treated 168 people who needed medical help during the fast, including 96 people who suffered from weakness, dizziness and confusion, 66 who fainted and 6 who dehydrated. MDA has issued instructions to the fasting public and conducted special evaluations by means of MDA motorbikes, EMTS and paramedics in ambulances and mobile intensive care units that have medically secured the many mispallalim who arrived at the Kosel Plaza as well as the fasts in the rest of the country.

Let’s face the real facts. People who are unwell, already have Halachic dispensation. So most of these 168 fellows, are people who should have been spending the entire day relaxing in their aircondiioned living rooms, or spent Av 9th c/o a relative who has airconditioning, and not running around, not even to the Kossel.
