The recently released Levy Committee report which challenges the validity America’s long-standing “West Bank” mantra has more than ruffled a few feathers in the American State Department.
One of the authors of the comprehensive report is a recognized expert on international law, but that does not work for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who wants to hear no such thing.
Despite the clarity of the report America does not appear to be on the verge of changing its long-standing policy, opposing the settlements, which are viewed as “occupying” and “illegal”.
Speaking at a memorial for Theodore Herzl on Tuesday, 20 Tammuz 5772 President Shimon Peres warned that the yishuvim may nevertheless pose a demographic threat because Israel’s presence in Yehuda and Shomron may “jeopardize the Jewish majority in Israel”.
“Israeli yishuvim located in populated Arab areas, a response to their attacks on us, may result in a threatening demographic shift. They may jeopardize the Jewish majority in Israel and without a Jewish majority, there is a doubt the Jewish state will remain Jewish.”
In Israel, supporters of the yishuvim and the Israeli presence in liberate areas are calling upon the government to adopt the report and act on it towards expanding Jewish communities and legalizing outposts.

This is typical of the left’s warped, un-Jewish way of thinking.
Following this line of logic, when arabs start to outnumber Jews INSIDE the so-called “green-line” (i.e. pre-6 Day War borders) and become a demographic problem even INSIDE the greenline, then we should give even more land to the yishmaelim and withdraw to… to… to where??? Maybe to just Tel Aviv?
It is interesting to note that when Rav Meir Kahane ztzvk”l used the demographic argument as a reason to move arabs OUT of Israel, (see the debate betweeen Olmert and R’Kahane on youtube on this subject) Olmert said R’ Kahane’s claims were ridiculous and if they would EVER have any relevance, it would not be until a time so far in the distant future that it was not worth thinking about.
This very same Olmert reversed himself 180 degrees at the time of the Gush Katif expulsion, using the same argument Peres (the traif bird) is using in this article, namely that (as Rav Kahane said) the arabs in Israel pose a huge demographic threat to the Jewishness of Israel.
Sooo…
In a nutshell…
Rav Kahane’s solution to the problem -> get the arabs out of Eretz Yisrael.
The left’s solution to the problem -> keep amputating the parts of Eretz Yisrael that have a lot of arabs from Eretz Yisrael and expel the Jews.
A point to remember… Israel is the only country in the world that will prevent Jews from living in parts of the country ONLY because they are JEWS.
Something is VERY wrong with this picture.
Good let it ruffle as many feathers as necessary.
Israel is a sovereign country with laws, regulations and quite a few brillant legal justices.
I wonder whether the British recognize our occupation of these United States? What about Texas? What about California? Why is Israel held to a different standard? The Arabs tried to push Israel into the sea and they LOST. a few times. Thank G-d. This double standard is just ridiculous. There are countries all over europ that have been reconfigured due to war. Where is the uproar? Thousands of citizens are being murdered in Syria and no one is doing a thing!!! Where are the UN condemnations and meetings? Where are all the smug hippocrate diplomats? If you get a chance, forward this comment to Hillary too.
zionflag, we like Israel’s “brillant legal justices” as much as we like Peres, the State Department, the current resident of the White House. For some odd reason, your “brillant legal justices” are consistently anti-Israel, anti-Charedi, anti-yishuvim in Yehuda and Shomron. Your “brillant legal justices” found Olmert pure and innocent, but kept my niece of 13 years of age for 20 days + in jail together with hard core criminals because she was chutzpadik with an Israeli policewoman. So much for “brillant legal justices”.
#4 I hear you loud and clear and am on YOUR SIDE…
“quite a few” – perhaps E. Levy should have been named.
The article is wrong; the USA has never declared the “settlements” illegal. The USA position has always been that the territories’ status is unresolved, and needs to be solved by negotiation, and it won’t anticipate the result.
