There have been terrorist incidents for years that emanated from Har Habayis. Whether guns were used or not, is not the issue. The danger of someone bringing a gun up there was well known for many years. However, the govt weighed the options and decided that to make a change in the status quo wouldn’t be worth it. But Netanyahu is a shoot from the hip type of guy who often makes errors like this. And usually he bows to the pressure and reverses course. I imagine that it will happen again in this case.
