Israel Police reports numerous flash points at which there was Islamic violence in the capital on Friday afternoon, 27 Tammuz. The Palestinian violence began after Friday afternoon prayers. The violence took place on Salah a-Din Street in the eastern capital as well as in the Ras el-Amud, A-Tur and Rockefeller areas of Jerusalem.

As many as three Palestinian teens were killed in confrontations in Ras al-Amud and Abu-Tur. They were injured and transported to Mukassed Hospital in the capital where they died of their injuries. This led to additional confrontations and attacks against police.

200 Palestinians were injured in the violence.

Police were targeted with rocks and firebombs as well as other objects. Fireworks were set off and hurled at police. Four policemen were injured, apparently all with non-life-threatening injuries.

After Islamic prayers on Har Habayis, roads that were closed for security reasons were reopened by police. Police continue to maintain a high profile in and around Jerusalem’s Old City as violence continues in some areas.
