11-Year-Old Becomes Intoxicated at Hachnasas Sefer Torah


An 11-year-old boy was transported to a hospital with a head injury on Sunday night. It is reported that the child drank a large quantity of alcohol at a hachnasas sefer torah and as a result, the boy fell and struck his head.

The call came into Ichud Hatzalah for a child who fell after drinking while attending the event in Bnei Brak’s Shikun Hey. They child was transported to the emergency room of Schneider Children’s Hospital in a MDA paramedic ambulance.

Kikar Shabbat reports family members state the child’s condition is described as “stable”.

  1. Oy, maybe now people will see the problem of drinking that has invaded Klall Yisroel, whether at chasunahs, vorts, or any other time.
