On Wednesday, 25 Tammuz, starting in the afternoon hours, MDA EMTs, paramedics and first aid providers will be deployed at Park HaYarkon in Tel Aviv to medically secure the dozens of thousands of attendees of the Radiohead concert.
MDA is calling attendees to carry large amounts of water. Those who plan on arriving at the venue hours prior to the show are recommended to remain in shaded areas, use sunscreen, stay hydrated, wear a hat and avoid exposure to the sun. During the show, remain hydrated and avoid crowd density.
For any medical emergency approach MDA personnel at the venue, call the 101 hotline or use the free “My MDA” and “Reporty” mobile apps to call the MDA dispatch center with a click of a button. Both apps are integrated within the MDA command and control system, are able to locate the user’s precise location, let callers broadcast images and live video from the scene and shorten response times overall.
“My MDA” offers features that help cut MDA’s response time dramatically: location tracking, sharing photos and live video from the scene, and a multi-language chat to overcome language barriers as well as speaking and hearing impairments. The chat feature also comes in handy in loud places like the Radiohead concert. The app also enables users to manage an in-app medical record to allow dispatchers to access vital medical data, streamlining emergency response.
Manager of the MDA Dan Region, Itzik Ben Aharon: “I call concert attendees to download the mobile apps so MDA can use them to locate the caller’s precise location among the large crowd, and rapidly reach and provide them with medical treatment.”
