That happens every day in American courtrooms nationwide. Sometimes it is later overturned. Often after wrongly spending years or decades behind bars. Even more times it is never overturned. The Brooklyn DA alone has been on a mission over the past three years overturning many wrongful convictions from the previous Brooklyn DA’s tenure.
