As was the case following the fatal terror attack near Eilat in August 2011, the IDF has once again announced the closure of Route 12 following the rocket attacks during recent days. The roadway is only being used for security vehicles at this time.

In actuality, security officials became concerned over the weekend, when Grad katyusha rockets were fired into the Eilat area from Sinai.

The reality is that today, about two weeks after IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz announced the reopening of Route 12 in that area, it is once again restricted to security and emergency vehicles only.
