An estimated 1,400 mispallalim visited Kever Yosef during the night, the eve of 1 Tammuz 5772 to be mispallel at the tziyun on the yahrzeit of the tzaddik ZY”A.

The event was organized with approval of the IDF, and a large force was on hand to escort buses and the tziyun as mispallalim were coming and going. Seven people were arrested, reportedly for trying to enter the area with approval of the IDF, military officials report.

In addition, 9 Arabs were taken into custody for pelting soldiers with rocks. No injuries were reported. PA (Palestinian Authority) security forces responded quickly, intervening to prevent a confrontation between PA residents and IDF soldiers.
