Beit Shemesh Driver was Attacked Due to Immodest Attire

YWN-ISRAEL reported on Wednesday, that a female driver was attacked by chareidim hurling rocks in Beit Shemesh, smashing a car window. Baruch Hashem, the intended victim emerged without physical injuries.

Since that report, the driver has been identified as Vered Daniel, and she spoke with Ynet, explaining her fears and how her “heart was pounding” as she feared for her safety during the incident, adding her baby was in the vehicle as well.

She explained she was in the area two buy a stroller for her 7-month-old twins and the attack occurred while she was outside the vehicle, opening the trunk. It appears the attackers decided she was not in line with area tznius requirements and felt throwing rocks at her and her infant was the appropriate response.

Two frum women who realized what was taking place ran to assist her, fearing for the well-being of the baby. They assisted her and together, they all fled to a nearby store for cover. They waited a while and then she headed back to the car, once again assisted by the women. She was targeted by rocks as she left the area as well.

She pointed out that she was wearing a “long baggy dress” and not tight or “immodest clothing” seeking to understand the potentially fatal attack launched against her.

  1. I wonder how many of the chilonim have been brought close to Hashem by throwing rocks at them? Or spitting at them? Or blocking traffic and yelling “Shabbes”?

  2. ‘seeking to understand the potentially fatal attack launched against her’. -Nothing to understand when dealing with extremism and violence.

  3. What a chillul Hashem. Even if the babies had not been there, that was a very dangerous situation for the mother to be in. They can’t think endangering a Jews life, and acting like behamas brings them closer to Hashem. It doesn’t.

  4. A little hard to understand the mentality of these sickos!!!

They are too busy learning Torah to be able to go into the army to DEFEND Jewish lives (and NO, you don’t have to be a Zionist to be a soldier and defend Jewish lives against the constant threat from the yishmaeli savages) – BUT, they DO have plenty of time to throw rocks at a young woman supposedly not dressed tsnius’dikly enougn for them.

I have to assune that they had to look at her carefully to make that assessment, and then look at her carefully again to aim their rocks.
    What hypocrites!
    What a chilul HaSh-m!

  5. I am not sure why they are called Chareidi, when clearly their actions show otherwise. These rock throwers are not Chareidi, they are people that do nothing all day and grow beards.

  6. These animals are rodfim and they should be treated as such.
    This is frumkeit?
This is as far as frumkeit as one can get.
Until the so called leadership we have today has the guts to stand up to these savages and put them in cheirem we are in trouble.
we will continue to live in our fantasy world and continue to rally around the Internet issue and concerts.
    How pathetic.

  7. I wonder what there “chareidim” would do to the women in Lakewood. Would they stone them also? Maybe we don’t all dress the way they believe is proper either.

  8. I totally agree with number one.
I understand them but there is another way to tell them and theirs is not the right one. I heard some non frum people say: “if this it that (throwing rocks) being frum then its better not to be”

  9. and no pun intended.

but then it makes you understand why the israelis think we need to learn how to behave soo lets domesticate them and ship the charedim to army boot camp and get some manners minus 10%

  10. This article is NOTHING but one massive piece of horrific lashon haraa against ALL charedim!! NOWHERE does it bring any support to show that its assumption that the woman’s dress was the ‘justification’ for the attack is even true (in fact the opposite is stated, that she wasn’t even so immodestly dressed) so WHO gave you a heter to slander the ENTIRE chareidi population in such a way?? Shame on you YWN that you have no concept of even minimal shmirat halashon, one of the most vital mitzvot in the Torah – either get yourselves a Rav or get rid of the Y from your name!

  11. “She explained she was in the area two buy a stroller for her” … please at least read over the article before its posted…. the “two” should clearly be “to”

  12. Step back a moment. An anti-Torah site reports something in the most negative way possible and everyone leaps into name-calling and condemnation. Dafka because of that reportage, every female in EY should know by now that in Beis Shemesh they must dress tznius and behave tznius as well. The real consequences are given not by offended Jews but by Hashem.

  13. The attacker must be found and tried for attempted murder. This is not the actions of one who is a YEREY SHAMIIM and can be referred to as Hareidi but that of a criminal devoid of a Kosher NESHAMAH.

  14. Loyal Jew you stand alone with your opinion. Those may be the expectations of Beit shemesh, but that does not make it ok to physically harm a woman and her children. They should sooner offer to help her because I assume with twins and a stroller she had her hands full ( would not happen) but what they did is a disgrace to the term charedi.

  15. YWN is and is great at holding the line between its material that must not be excluded and hid from and stuck under the carpet i dont care how many people say its things some people dont want to hear or hope to shut their eyes to.

and then the free for all that means everyone can have an opinion and post their comment on all articles in any nuance that they seek to distinctly make themselves come across

YASHER KOACH TO YWNS STANDARD OF REPORTING. i dont care if half the world decided to criticize them. the articles they post are all very neccesary enlightening and straightening!!

and for what i posted above here is this link http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/157100#.T-M7oxdo0ZM

Barak: The Goal – 90% Hareidi Enlistment
Defense Minister Ehud Barak suggests 10% of hareidi men learn Torah, while the rest enlist in the military or civilian service.

which after events like these it seems to prove that we bring hate and discplinary action unto our communities and then we wonder why large numbers of regular yehudim in eretz yisroel want nothing better then to ship us off to the boot camps and face a yelling master seargent to teach us manners maturity and societal behavior

  16. #14- That is ridiculus. Last time I checked, Israel was a free country and women can dress any way they like according to Israeli law. Anyone who feels it is not up to par with tznius doesn’t have to look. By your logic, suppose most of the women of Beit Shemesh started to wear burqas (like some sickos)and those who did not were stoned. Would you also say that “every female in EY should know by now that in Beit Shemesh they must dress tznius”?

  17. #14 There is no justification for their behavior. The throwing stones has NOTHING to do with tznius. They are not motivated by Yiras Shomayim. They are just board and have no proper outlet and they go crazy.
Don’t let these lowlives get the aura of Kanoim or Tzadikim. The woman could have been dressed totally b’tznius it’s just that she may have had a different style than everyone else there and she was an easy target.
Those lowlives are potential ROTZCHIM!! Stop protecting them.

  18. Funny how Whenever there is a incident where a group of “chillonim” would assault or attack people (which happens more often then you think) it will be lucky even to be mentioned in the news and if it is, they are definitely NOT called out as chillonim, their usually referred to as a group of teenagers or what not…. But we all know that.. ever notice that the same way israel is viewed on by the world media is the same way chareidim are viewed on in the israelis media… Nothing more to be said
    May god Bless us all

  19. It would only be appropriate if whoever engaged in this attack was found by’h to have been the victim of a rock thrown by some unknown assailant or a bullet from some unknown terrorist. What they are doing is NO DIFFERENT from what the terrorists do when they attack someone driving a car on the West Bank. The Ebeshter has his own ways of dealing with these animals.

  20. Those who get their guidance on this issue from Ynet don’t understand the reality in Beis Shemesh. People move there to put the treifus of general society behind them, only to find that it’s chasing them full speed. The unpleasantness last Tishrei could have been solved with a few pairs of stockings but the RZ interlopers and their chiloni allies wouldn’t hear of it. It happened again with the untznius provocateur who entered a shul. Now it’s starting all over again. It’s so easy to condemn those who threw rocks, assuming that they really did, but every form of darkei noam was tried to no avail.
