When it comes to crime in Manhattan and central Brooklyn, it’s a tale of two cities.
While most New Yorkers walk the streets without fear because crime is down, many Crown Heights residents say they hear gunshots all night long and are afraid to go out for groceries after dark.
Many people in the Police Department have congratulated themselves that crime is down, but people in our communities see a different picture,” said Assemblyman Karim Camara (D-Crown Heights.)
