Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman is backing legislation that would require members of the Security Cabinet to pass a polygraph test annually in the hope of preventing or reducing leaks from the high-level forum.
The bill was submitted by an MK from Lieberman’s party, Robert Ilatov, with the latter insisting persons on the Security Cabinet can expose state secrets and therefore they must be compelled to pass the exam towards safeguarding the integrity of the forum.
