Terrorist Indicted for Planning to Abduct Soldiers

Three Arabs who allegedly planned to abduct IDF soldiers will be indicted for their conspiracy plot. One of them was indicted in the Beersheva District Court on Tuesday, 15 Sivan 5772. The three hoped to use the soldiers as negotiating pawns to obtain the release of three terrorists not being released in the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal.

The three met while in prison, where there began to plot their actions, discussing a bomb attack in Ashdod or Beit Shemesh as possible scenarios that would permit the abduction. One of the defendants traveled to Saudi Arabia, where he was to meet with a person who would supply the funding to acquire the weapons needed.

The other two will be formally indicted in the coming days.
