‘Kav’ reports that there is an improvement in the condition of Maran Posek HaDor HaGaon HaRav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv Shlita. This is not being confirmed by officials at Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
The report states this past Shabbos, the gadol hador was out on the balcony of the eighth floor of the hospital and has since responded to questions posed to him, primarily dealing with recent events surrounding the state’s partial acceptance of Reform religious leaders.
One of the rav’s grandsons asked “should we continue fighting against the Reform Movement” and the rav is quoted as responded “certainly”. The rav also requested to daven mincha with a minyan.
The report concludes that those close to the gadol hador urge the tzibur to continue being mispallel in the hope that soon, he may return to his home.
The tzibur is requested to continue being mispallel for Rav Yosef Sholom ben Chaya Musha b’soch kol cholei am yisrael.

Just like the reports several weeks ago that the Gadol HaDor davened in the hospital shul turned out to be baseless and false, so to this report.
Why does YWN publish this nonsense.

Seeing as how a doctor squashed these types of reports the last time they made the rounds of the frum news, I would wait until a medical professional actually confirms this before celebrating.

Really? So your leader of the torah world grandfather is finally coming to after being on a ventilator and in and out of a coma, and you ask “should we continue fighting against the Reform Movement” That’s the best question or statement you can muster??
Im sorry, this whole story sounds like a setup. Like the many conflicting stories we have had about his condition. How are we to believe this? YWN has already carried the story about the multiple misleading stories about his health! And what an easy target too. Quick everybody, lets take a quick jab at the reform!! See even in his ill health the Rav is thinking about how to defeat the Reform!! WHAT??? Really, so you mean he’s not thinking about how he is thankful to Hashem for being able to breathe on his own? Oy.
The fact that the rav went to shul was never denied by anyone. some people simply can’t read. Dr Shusheim simply said that there was no dramatic improvement and that he had not heard thr rav speak.

Rav Elyashiv is the Gadol Hador and as such his mind is always focused on the issues of Klal Yisroel ragrdless of what is happening to him on a personal level. So whether or not the story is true, I have no idea, but it is believable.
p.s. “Quick everybody, lets take a quick jab at the reform!! ” Absolutely foolish comment. You dont see how many 100,000’s of Jews have casted aside their Judaism assimilated due to reform and no longer even marry Jews?!
