Thousands of Israel boosters waved blue and white flags as they marched up Fifth Avenue on Sunday for the annual Celebrate Israel parade.
In keeping with this year’s theme of “Israel Branches Out” — celebrating growth and creativity — some marchers carried banners festooned with flowers and fruit.
Elected officials including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo waved to constituents. Sen. Charles Schumer used a bullhorn to shout “Let’s hear is for Israel! And America!”
Formerly called the Salute to Israel Parade, the event celebrates the birth of the Jewish state in 1948. It draws students from yeshivas and Jewish day schools around the Northeast as well as members of Jewish groups and synagogues.

Just loved the videa..beautiful great way to view the parade for those unable to attend.
The Jewish pride that many have for the existence of Israel and a home away from home in the HOLYLAND keeps the pintele flame of Yiddishkeit alive and burning.
This parade, as always, was a glorious day for all of us in galus. With one damp spot – the inclusion of the gay synagogue group. If the Irish can keep them out of their parade, why can’t we? Oh, I forgot, liberals.
#2 honestly why do you care if they march leave them alone, they werent flaunting anything there, they had a very normal banner and group, other than the rainbow israeli flag there was nothing wrong with them marching this has nothing to do with liberalism, this has to do with them wanting to feel part of israel, get over it.
