A real estate developer has pleaded guilty in a scheme that involved falsely registering voters in an upstate New York village.
The developer entered the plea Tuesday in White Plains federal court to a charge of conspiracy to corrupt the electoral process. The charge stemmed from a March 2014 election for the office of mayor and other jobs in Bloomingburg.
Acting Manhattan U.S. Attorney Joon Kim said in a statement that the 57-year-old developer conspired to advance his real estate development project by falsely registering voters.
Prosecutors say the developer and others bribed potential voters by offering payments, subsidies and other things of value to people who did not live in Bloomingburg.
Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 28. A fellow defendant pleaded guilty last week.

Despite this plea, the local redneck anti-semites lost this war where they tried to stop Jews from becoming the electoral majority in Bloomingburg, as the new Jewish residents of the village – and their now electoral majority – are there to stay despite this recent news.
Would someone explain why this article does not name the guilty developer? And if the short explanation is loshon hara, please give the long explanation.
