As part of a police operation cracking down on drivers speaking on the phone without a hands-free device, a truck driver was pulled over by traffic police on Route 2 in Israel on Monday, 4 Nissan.
As police ran a check, they were surprised to learn the driver has no license. The truck was taken off the road and the driver promptly placed in custody. The driver’s license expired in 2015 and the truck’s registration expired in 2016.
It was an all-around difficult day for the 31-year-old resident of the Israeli Arab Municipality of Kafr Kassam, who told police he was unaware of the expiration of his and the vehicle’s license.
A supervisor impounded the truck for 30 days. The driver will soon be appearing before a traffic court judge.
