As it becomes increasingly apparent that the regime of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad is nearing its final days, intelligence and military experts are preparing for the worst case scenario. One of the major concerns in Jerusalem is who will be in power and what will happen with Syria’s chemical weapons.

As such, reservists have been called up and they are practicing addressing various scenarios, including a chemical weapons attack, missiles launched into Israel with chemical warheads. This is just one of the possible scenarios that are being rehearsed as officials in Jerusalem continue to carefully monitor events in Damascus during what most believe are the final days of the al-Assad rule.
