Following is a schedule of events for Yom Yerushalayim 50 in Jerusalem this year, Wednesday, 28 Iyar.
Tours of City Hall Plaza

The Quality of Service Authority and the Municipality of Jerusalem’s Visitors’ Center invite the public to guided tours of City Hall Plaza on Jerusalem Day, commemorating 50 years to the reunification of the city. The tours will include visiting the Jewish National Fund’s photo exhibition “We returned to the Water Holes” which exhibits various images of Jerusalem taken in 1967, viewing the breathtaking panorama from the building, which served as city hall during the mandate period, and entrance into a model of the city – the Model House.
Meeting point: Safra Square opposite building number 3, the Pillow Complex.
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours.
Hebrew: 10:00 and 12:00
Russian and English: 11:00
All tours free of charge.

The Yakir Yerushalayim award ceremony held at the Tower of David museum and celebrating 50 years to the reunification of the city – at 20:00
The Yakir Yerushalayim award ceremony attended by the Mayor.
Twelve of the city’s residents will receive the annual award. In addition, this year a special award will also be granted to one of the city’s manufacturers and to one of its builders.
The award is given to people who influenced and improved the lives of all city residents.

Jerusalem Day Eve: Tuesday, 27 of Iyar 5777, May 23, 2017
“Naale LeYerushalayim” National Youth Conference commemorating 50 years of the city’s reunification, 10:00-20:00
The National youth conference will include several events all held throughout the city, from Nachlaot, Armon HaNatziv, Ammunition Hill and Mount Scopus to Gey Ben Hinom. From the menorah of sovereignty to the menorah of the temple.
Approx. 30,000 youths, from all over the country, will take part in the tours held during the Jerusalem Day event week. They will visit various sites throughout the city, and on Tuesday approx. 20,000 will walk in 5 courses and end the day at the youth rally at the Sultan’s Pool at 18:30.
The program includes:
10:00 – arrival to Jerusalem
10:00-16:00 – tours and visits throughout the city
16:00-17:30 – tours of the Jewish Quarter
18:30-20:00 – National Youth Rally attended by approx. 7,000 youths at the Sultan’s Pool

A Shaharit prayer with Hizki Soffer at the Armon HaNatziv Promenade.
The “Flag Dance” Parade – prayer and rally at the Western Wall, 16:30-22:00
The parade is held annually on Jerusalem Day starting from 16:30. The parade is accompanied by dance, song and the waving of flags, and is produced by the Am CaLavie Association. Every year, tens of thousands come to Jerusalem from all over the country and the world to take part in the parade.
The “Flag Dance” parade ends with a festive ceremony held at the Western Wall, which includes a prayer and a rally.
Merkaz HaRav Yeshiva – Kiryat Moshe, 12 HaRav Tzvi Yehuda St.
18:00-01:00 – a rally to give thanks and commemorate 50 years to the liberation and unification of Jerusalem. Attended by the chief Rabbis, ministers, heads of Yeshivas, members of Knesset and public figures.
The rally will end with the traditional procession to the Western Wall.

An official Jerusalem Day ceremony – a national memorial service in memory of the soldiers who fell in the Six Day War.
Memorial services for combat soldiers, 16:00
Memorial services for combat soldiers near the paratroopers’ memorial, and the gathering of veterans of the paratrooper brigade, and the combat soldiers will be held at Ammunition Hill and at the Memorials:
Sheikh Jarrah, the American Consulate, the Lions Gate and the Rockefeller Museum.
Opening of the Ammunition Hill Museum, 19:00
The ceremonial opening of the Ammunition Hill Museum, attended by the Prime Minister, the Minister for Jerusalem Affairs, the Mayor of Jerusalem and other dignitaries.
Official Jerusalem Day Ceremony, Ammunition Hill, 19:45
The Official ceremony commemorating 50 years to the liberation and reunification of Jerusalem, attended by the President of Israel, the Prime Minister, Ministers, the Mayor, the Chief of Staff, the Chief of Police and the bereaved families.
The program includes: lighting the touches of the fighting brigades and an artistic performance.

Inauguration of the Bell Outpost at Ramat Rachel, 11:00
The inauguration ceremony of the Bell Outpost attended by the Minister for Jerusalem Affairs, Mr. Ze’ev Elkin, and the Mayor of Jerusalem, Mr. Nir Barkat.
