Maybe if these VIP rabbonim and askanim were made to travel to Meron on an Eged bus, they would rconsider the wisdom of this annual meshugaas of trying to move over half million yidden to one small town at the same time with roads that can barely handle a fraction of that traffic and a bus network that is struggling to accommodate normal mass transportation needs. There have been multiple pleas from the emergency responders to consider spreading the bonfires to different locations with different chassidus each having their own event and taking responsibility for their own logistics. I doubt very much that Rav SBY would object if yidden build a bonfire at other locations and will intercede in response to their teffilos just as much.
