Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Transportation and Road Safety Minister Shaul Mofaz today inaugurated a new section of Highway #6, the Trans-Israel Highway, between Nahal Sorek and Kiryat Gat, thus increasing the part of the highway that is open to traffic to 110 kilometers.
 
Prime Minister Olmert said: “The Israeli economy is moving forward and one indication of this is the possibility of investing in infrastructure.  The major effort that we must now make is to see to it that all residents of Israel feel this economic growth, a substantial part of which is the construction of infrastructures that benefit everybody”.
