President Donald Trump will make his return to the city Thursday, his first since taking office, and as expected, security will be extra tight.
He will be at the U.S.S. Intrepid Museum along with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
The event will mark the 75th anniversary of World War II’s Battle of the Coral Sea, when U.S. and Australian forces teamed up to fight the Japanese.
But the day will be marked with several anti-Trump protests.
Police Commissioner James O’Neill says the department is prepared.
“President Trump is coming in in the afternoon, but this isn’t the first president’s visit to New York City, it’s something we do very well, we’re prepared. Should be a good day,” said O’Neill. “Crowds is something the NYPD does very well and we don’t anticipate any major issues on Thursday, and we’ll have to be fluid, we’ll have to be flexible.”
While he’s appearing the city, president trump is expected to stay at his golf course in New Jersey.
