A branch of the Shomrim was established in Bnei Brak a number of years ago and its volunteers working during the nighttime hours have prevented many thefts and other crimes.
Now there is a new branch, in Elad, launched officially on Tuesday night, in the presence of city officials including Mayor Yitzchak Edan and Rav Zushe Hurwitz, rav of Kehillos Chassidim in the city along with representatives of local police. Also present was Deputy Mayor Yisrael Porush and councilmen.
Elad Police Chief Ronen Saban addressed the event as well, promising total cooperation from his department.
Shomron officials explained they are committed to bring a feeling of safety and security to residents of their community.
