PHOTOS: Police Assist Cancer Patient To Arrive At Memorial Day Ceremony

A Jerusalem police spokesman explains that in addition to the department’s security responsibilities, it strives to include acts of chessed. This includes a request received by police on Memorial Day from Zichron Menachem, to assist facilitating a visit to the Mt. Herzl Military Cemetery by a young girl battling cancer.

During the afternoon hours, Zichron Menachem’s CEO Chaim Erental turned to police to assist in accommodating a 23-year-old woman who is a patient at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

Zichron Menachem arranged the transport and police reported to the hospital to escort the Zichron Menachem vehicle to permit the young woman to participate in the ceremony in Har Herzl.

As soon as Chana got out of the ambulate, she asked to meet the policeman who escorted her to permit her to thank him.

Police officials explain they often respond to requests for chessed when possible.
