In April 2012, 15,372 vehicles were imported to Israel as compared to 13,146 in April 2011. This represents a 16.9% increase from last year. Tax authorities report April marks the first month in which car imports increased since January 2012.
April also marked an increase in the so-called white appliances, including washing machines (28.3% increase from last year) dishwashers (17.8%), and dryer sales doubled, the daily HaMevaser reports.
