Gunshots were heard in the heart of Boro Park on Shabbos afternoon, but thankfully no one was hit.

According to the NYPD, two shots were fired from a moving vehicle on 18 Avenue and 53 Street at around 7:00PM. The shots appear to have been directed at an individual standing on the sidewalk.

The NYPD 66 Precinct Detectives are working closely on the case and appear to have video footage as well as info on the perpetrators.

Residents should be aware that this appears to have been an isolated incident and it does not appear the Jewish community was targeted.

Additional police patrols have been added to the area.
