Senior officials in Rishon L’Tzion City Hall have been arrested by police, including chareidim. They are accused of fraudulently obtaining funds by filing false reports on various event which never took place or held in a more modest format than reported.

Ten suspects were arrested on Tuesday morning 29 Nissan during the morning hours, all serving in City Hall following an undercover investigation conducted for over a year. During the past year, a number of the suspects were questioned by police. After police gathered sufficient evidence against them the decision was made to forward with the arrests.

In some cases, suspects filed for city funding for events that never took place, which in other cases, they received funding for a lavish event but held a modest version, allegedly pocketing the remainder of the funding.
