A crane owner was cleared by a Manhattan judge this morning on all charges in connection with the 2008 collapse on the Upper East Side that killed two workers. James Lomma was found not guilty of manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and assault.
Prosecutors had argued the 200-foot crane fell because Lomma got a bargain repair on an important part.
His defense lawyers say it was properly fixed and blames the crane operator for the collapse.
Donald Leo and Ramadan Kurtaj were killed in the accident.
