Bus companies providing public bus service will increase the number and frequency of buses operating on Wednesday, Memorial Day, with and emphasis on routes traveling to military cemeteries around the country.
Yediot Achronot announces that Egged will be giving a 50% discount to members of bereaved families traveling on routes with fares above 18 NIS for up to two members of the bereaved family heading to cemeteries around the country.
On Thursday, Independence Day, buses will operate on a holiday schedule and there will be stepped-up service on routes traveling to entertainment locations. Nigh routes will operate in major cities as well, including Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, Rishon L’Tzion, and the 480 route to and from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Israel Railways will operate on an erev Shabbos schedule on Memorial Day and service will halt at 17:00. A half price discount will be given to bereaved family members as well.
Trains will operate on a “different” schedule on Independence Day. Details are not provided.
