The Karlin-Stolin Rebbe, Rabbi Baruch Shochet Shlita made a visit to the Israel Museum, the daily Haaretz reports, adding the rebbe has an “openness” to the arts and culture.
The rebbe and his delegation were given a three-hour tour, viewing historic shuls, the Dead Sea Scrolls and more. It appears the visit was at the behest of museum officials as they are planning a major exhibition on the world of chassidus, which is set to open in June.
The curator of the upcoming exhibit, Ester Muchawsky-Schnapper told Haaretz that she has been in touch with numerous chassidic courts in Eretz Yisrael in preparation for the upcoming opening of the exhibit.

The Bostoner Rebbe, Moron Mayer Alter Shlita has been to the museum many times. He enjoys seeing the various exhibits, looking at things outside his expected circle of interests. He is a very widely read man in all secular topics and very open to the wide world. That is but one of the things that makes him so special.
